Lecturer

Dr Andreia Costa Santos is a Lecturer in health economics with experience in costing analysis and cost-effectiveness analysis in Brazil, the UK and Africa. She led the economic analysis for the Evidence to Policy Initiative that aimed to build economic, financial and epidemiological evidence on the benefits of sustaining malaria control in countries that have reached a state of controlled low-endemic malaria, and to catalyse concrete actions toward ensuring financial sustainability for malaria control. This Gates-funded project was an international collaboration between the Global Health Group at University of California, San Francisco, the Clinton Health Access Initiative and the LSHTM.

Andreia has experience in behavioural economics models that combine economic and psychology theories, and econometrics and statistical techniques to understand the cognitive processes that individuals use to judge future events and make choices.
